Incubating a format for life coaching and improving health of people with ASD
Many people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have physical symptoms related to nutrition, such as intestinal problems or allergies. A growing body of scientific evidence is demonstrating that reducing such physical symptoms also reduces the characteristics of ASD.
During monthly cooking workshops people with ASD try out recipes based on organic, in season and, as much possible, locally grown vegetables. The workshops were funded by the Triodos Foundation and took place at Volks Universiteit Amsterdam.
The workshops reached their goals of providing social contact for people, helping them to become more aware of the impact of diet on their wellbeing and begin to make changes in their daily lives.

The core of the idea came about during our colleague Krien Soeting's road trip from the Netherlands to Nepal. Together we researched and evolved the idea on his return.
